“Inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it to me,” says the parable of the Last Judgement. The verse of the week places the lasting connection with Christ alongside the horizon of judgment: “If we live, we live to the Lord; if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s”. The penultimate Sunday of the church year is usually celebrated as Peace Sunday or Remembrance Day.
