Receiving forgiveness ourselves and withholding forgiveness from others – Jesus clearly criticizes this behaviour in the parable of the scandalous servant. The epistle strikes an encouraging note: “I am confident of this, that he who began the good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus”.
